FG shuts Enugu, Kano & Port Harcourt airports due to coronavirus outbreak

To stop the spread of the coronavirus, the federal government has ordered the closure of three international airports in the country.

Musa Nuhu, Director-general of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) confirmed this in a statement released on Thursday, March 19.

The airports affected are Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano; Akan Ibiam International Airport, Enugu; And Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa and its closure will take effect on Saturday March 21st.

Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja & Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos are allowed to fly, but flights from the 13 high-risk countries COVID-19 (coronavirus) are not permitted.

This happens after the federal government has ordered the closure of all tertiary institutions and unity schools across the country Nigeria.
