I’m a disciple of Aminu Kano – Former INEC Chairman, Attahiru Jega—
A former Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Prof Attahiru Jega, disclosed that he is a disciple of Aminu Kano while confirming that he has indeed joined Peoples Redemption Party (PRP).
Confirming that he joined the political party, Jega told Punch “Yes, I am one of his (Aminu Kano’s disciples,” but gave no additional detail.
Mallam Aminu Kano was a highly respected Nigerian politician, reformist and teacher. He worked vigorously in support of democratisation, women’s empowerment and freedom of speech. In the 1940s, he led an Islamic movement in the north of the country in opposition to British rule.
