Kristofer Hivju, Game of Thrones actor tests positive for coronavirus

Game of Thrones actor Kristofer Hivju announced on Monday March 16 that he will enter self-quarantine after testing positive to coronavirus.

The Norwegian actor who played Tormund Giantsbane in the HBO series announced this on an Instagram photo with his wife. Although it is unclear whether his wife has the virus, Kristofer Hivju announced that his symptoms were milder.

He wrote;

“Greetings from Norway! Sorry to say that I, today, have tested positive for COVID19, Corona virus. My familiy and I are self-isolating at home for as long as it takes. We are in good health – I only have mild symptoms of a cold.

“There are people at higher risk for who this virus might be a devastating diagnosis, so I urge all of you to be extremely careful; wash your hands, keep 1,5 meters distance from others, go in quarantine; just do everything you can to stop the virus from spreading.”

The total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus has passed 179,000 worldwide, and roughly 1,300 confirmed cases of the virus have been reported in Norway.
